About Jay
Jay received his Masters of Social Work from the University of South Florida and have been a practicing clinical social worker for over 22 years. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a certified substance abuse counselor (CRADC). In addition to his many years of experience, Jay has completed the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program (APP) and Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Program (CAPP) at the Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute. Jay also completed advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other clinical approaches throughout his years of practice. Jay has studied and worked around the country, including South Florida, New York City, and St. Louis. He enjoys facilitating support, process and educational groups and has worked with young fathers, HIV positive men, and treats college mental health needs, grief, substance abuse and various other mental and emotional issues. Jay has presented locally and nationally on young fathers, substance abuse and college mental health.
Jay's extensive education, experience and training come together in a varied, nonjudgmental and warm therapeutic approach. Jay seeks to collaborate with his patients, meeting them where they are with their issues and readiness to address them, and helping them achieve their goals.
